Autonomous Intersections – Traffic in a Smart City

I conducted independent research on how automation can be used to regulate traffic in a smart city. The research included analysing current solutions such as fixed traffic control and actuated traffic control. Evolutionary algorithms and learning classifier systems were analysed as potential solutions to test whether fully autonomous vehicles would be more efficient. I used AIM (Autonomous Intersection Management), a software by the University of Texas for my research.
